Futo–Yawatono, Ito, Shizuoka

When Mount Fuji's sister mountain Mount Omuro erupted 4000 years ago, the lava that flowed from the eruption formed a magnificent lava rock coast around 9km in length. The cliffs connect along the coastline and you can enjoy a spectacular view from one cape to the other.

Jogasaki Kaigan

This suspension bridge above the ocean connects to the cliff, which makes for a perfect spot to gaze into the water and contemplate the horizon. The bridge is short so even children or those afraid of heights can enjoy the superb view of Jogasaki coastline without feeling uncomfortable.

Futo, Ito, Shizuoka

With a 300m-wide crater and altitude of just 580m, Mount Omuro - the sister mountain of Mount Fuji - looks like an upside down bowl. Its beautifully gentle silhouette can be viewed from anywhere in Izu-Kogen. Access the mountain top via the lift (with a fee) to enjoy a stunning 360°panorama, where you can take in the sights of Oshima Island floating in Sagami Bay, Izu Shichijima Island and peaks including Mount Fuji, Hakone and Mount Amagi. There are also archery facilities at the crater were beginners are welcome.

You can actually encounter more than 1500 different species of animals here at this natural park, including capybaras and kangaroos.
